userling is an open source social network experiment. The one main problem with most social networks today is the lack of complete control over look, feel, privacy, security and what you want to say or express in the way you want.
Utilizing WordPress, you’ll be able to create exactly what you want and exactly what you do not. You’ll have control over the exact design of your site/profile (whatever you decide you want it to be). Being able to add your own custom CSS.
You’ll have control over privacy; block your site from search engines, password protect posts and pages and most importantly only publish publicly what you want seen publicly.
This network is entirely up to the user. If you want to network with other profiles, create your own mini site, blog, store, forum or whatever else you can dream up you can. It’s all up to you.
Rules
The rules should be familiar. No illegal activity, no harassment and no spamming or scamming, phishing or hacking attacks. We hold the discretion to ban your account at any time for malicious activity. Most importantly have fun, be polite… we’re trying to build a community here with everyone’s collective creative efforts.
Privacy and Security
We of course have no interest in anything but the userling community’s happiness and safety. However you are ultimately responsible for your privacy and security. To utilize the tools at your disposal. If you’re not comfortable with this degree of control you may wish to seek help first.
